Zenith Electronics LLC invented subscription television and the modern remote control, and was the first to develop high-definition television (HDTV) in North America. LG Electronics [formerly Lucky-Goldstar Electronics] acquired a controlling share of Zenith in 1995 and it became a wholly owned subsidiary in 1999.

The pose adopted by Zenith [“real” name: Robert McDowell] wearing this jacket may be a nod to George Michael’s [real name: Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou (1963–2016)] video for Faith (Columbia Records, 1987), from his debut solo album of the same name; while Zenith’s quiff and general demeanor may also owe a little something to English singer/songwriter Rick Astley.
